Age is a starting point. Always check the frame measurements, as children of the same age can need different sizes. What should a comfortable fit feel like?
When you try on your glasses, check that:
- The frame rests comfortably on your nose.
- The arms do not squeeze the sides of your head or pinch behind your ears.
- The glasses stay reasonably stable when you look down or gently move your head.
- Your eyelashes do not brush against the lenses.
- Your cheeks do not push the frame upwards when you smile.
Comfort is personal. A frame that suits one person may feel different on another.
For children, ask how the glasses feel and check the fit again as they grow. Speak to an optician if adjustment is needed; avoid bending or heating the frame yourself.
Choose a look you enjoy
Face-shape guides can offer styling ideas, but they do not decide whether glasses will fit.
Find your fit
The easiest place to start is with a pair of glasses that already fits comfortably.
Look inside the arm for three numbers, often written like this:
51 □ 18–145
These measurements are in millimetres:
51 - lens width (The width of one lens).
18 - bridge width (The distance between the lenses, across the nose.)
145 - temple length (The length of the arm, from the hinge to the tip.)
Compare these numbers with the measurements on your chosen product page. Where available, compare the total frame width too, it helps you judge whether the frame may be too wide or narrow.
Similar measurements are a useful guide, but differences in frame shape and bridge design can change how glasses feel.
Know your lenses
Check the individual product page for the lenses included with your pair and their confirmed features.
UV protection
UV protection refers to filtering ultraviolet light. VR Kids Aero Blue and Lavender Dilly have supplier-specified UV400 protection.
Blue-light filtering
Blue-light filtering and UV protection are different features. Check your chosen product’s specifications rather than assuming every collection has the same lenses.
Prescription needs
If you need vision correction, confirm the available lens options with us before ordering. Do not assume the included lenses match your prescription.
